Disabled Sailing Association of British Columbia – DSA BC began with Expo ’86, when British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher donated a British designed Sunbird to Rick Hansen in honor of his ‘Man in Motion’ tour. In 1989, Rick Hansen presented the boat to Sam Sullivan who has been responsible for developing the program and raising funds and awareness. DSABC has expanded to include chapters in Victoria, Kelowna and Penticton.
